Worship is the one church event that gathers all people – of all generations, all socio-economic levels, all ethnicities – in our need of God. Through weekly worship at First CRC, we are reminded that God is God, we are not and that’s a good thing.
As a multi-generational congregation, we integrate traditional and contemporary elements of worship. With a user-friendly style, multi-media imaging and praise-team led music, we re-center our lives on Christ through prayer, song and sermon. Committed to biblical teaching, we grapple with relevant issues and explore how to follow Christ in our contemporary context. Through worship, we recognize that we are not called to the Christian life alone, but we journey together in the power of the Spirit.
Mission
Our mission in worship is to live out, always and everywhere, our God-created communal connection to him by our allegiance and worship of him. Worship is the authentic God meeting his authentic people. Our access to God is through the Son and so our purpose is to discover Christ and grow in him. Worship is Trinitarian: remembering the Father’s faithfulness, celebrating the Son’s sacrifice, and being empowered by the Spirit’s presence. All worship is directed by the Living Word of God.
Vision
Our vision is to be led by God to worship him in ways that are ancient and future, creative and expressive, and deeply owned by those who seek to discover and grow in Christ.
